HDCP High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection was developed by DCP, a subsidiary of Intel, in 2003. It involves encrypting audio and video content to prevent the unauthorized recording of high-definition video content transmitted through digital interfaces such as DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, MHL, and Wi-Fi Miracast.
